Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced SEN teaching assistant to join our team at Long-term Teachers Ltd. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supporting pupils with special educational needs, particularly those with down syndrome.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting a non-verbal pupil with down syndrome in a Gloucester school
  • Working with the pupil to develop their communication skills and independence
  • Collaborating with the school's SEN team to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Providing pastoral care and support to the pupil and their family

Requirements:

  • Experience working with pupils with SEN, particularly those with down syndrome
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Compassionate and patient approach to supporting pupils with complex needs
