We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Specialist Pharmacist for General Surgery and Thrombosis to join our team at the Transformation Unit. As a Specialist Pharmacist, you will provide high-quality patient-focused clinical pharmacy services for patients within the General Surgery care areas.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the provision of clinical pharmacy services for anticoagulation, thrombosis, and VTE across the Trust. You will work closely with the Care Group Lead Pharmacist and Associate Chief Pharmacist for Clinical Services to develop and implement clinical pharmacy policies and procedures.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a Major Trauma centre offering tertiary services across various surgical specialties. You will have the chance to develop your clinical skills and work within well-respected multidisciplinary teams as the pharmacy lead for anticoagulation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality clinical pharmacy services for patients within General Surgery care areas.
  • Lead the provision of clinical pharmacy services for anticoagulation, thrombosis, and VTE across the Trust.
  • Develop and implement clinical pharmacy policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with the Care Group Lead Pharmacist and Associate Chief Pharmacist for Clinical Services.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent.
  • Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Postgraduate Clinical Pharmacy Certificate.
  • Non-medical prescriber or willingness to undertake this when requested.
  • Excellent knowledge of clinical pharmacy and drug use within General Surgery and anticoagulation, thrombosis, and VTE.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this position is £53,755 - £60,504 per annum, plus a Recruitment and Retention Premia (RRP) totalling £5,000 payable upon appointment. In addition, a relocation allowance may be available subject to eligibility.
