At Oxford Quantum Circuits, we're looking for a talented individual to join our Material Science and Device Engineering team as an Applied Scientist. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge quantum technology development projects and make a significant impact with your data analysis skills.

About the Role

The Applied Scientist will help our team analyse data, interpret results related to superconducting devices, and develop recommendations to guide improvements in materials choice and nanofabrication processes.

  • Analyse large datasets to extract insights and trends supporting advancements in material characterisation and fabrication processes for superconducting devices.
  • Develop scripts to extract information from various data sources and formats.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs, develop data collection systems, and provide results-driven recommendations.
  • Create automations for data and KPI tracking.
  • Generate high-quality reports on findings.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong background in data science, image processing, and statistical methods demonstrated via previous work or research.
  • Knowledge of fabrication techniques and characterisation methods for thin films, multilayers, and nano/micro structures.
  • Highly skilled in Python, related libraries for data management, statistics, and data visualisation tools.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills for seamless collaboration across diverse technical teams.
  • PhD or Master's degree in physics, materials science, or a similar field.
  • Autonomous motivation and prioritisation of workload.
  • Analytical Thinking and attention to detail.
