Learning Support Assistant

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and motivated Learning Support Assistant to join one of our client schools in Ruskington, Lincolnshire.
About the Role:As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide essential support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them access the curriculum and succeed in their educational journey. You will work closely with teaching staff to ensure all students receive the individual attention they need to overcome any barriers to learning.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide one-to-one and group support to students with SEN, promoting independence and encouraging students to take responsibility for their learning.
- Assist in the implementation of Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) and other tailored learning strategies, working alongside teaching staff to create a supportive and engaging learning environment.
- Support the social and emotional development of students, helping to improve their confidence and well-being, and aid in managing challenging behaviour using positive reinforcement and behaviour management strategies.
- Accompany students on off-site activities when required, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students, following safeguarding protocols.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other school staff to monitor progress and adapt support as needed.
- Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational setting, particularly those with SEN.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a difference in students' lives.
- The ability to manage challenging situations calmly and effectively.
- A valid driving licence.
- A valid DBS registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to apply for one.
