Job Overview

Swansea Bay University Health Board is seeking a skilled Podiatrist to join our team of healthcare professionals. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, utilizing their expertise in musculoskeletal care to assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for a wide range of Podiatry patients.

Main Duties of the Job

The Podiatrist will be responsible for:

  • Autonomous assessment and development of treatment plans for Podiatry patients with complex health problems
  • Effectively managing a clinical caseload of clients with complex needs, using evidence-based client-centered principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate podiatric interventions
  • Supporting positive behavioral changes through activation to empower self-management
  • Using evidence-based, client-centered principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate podiatric interventions in hospital and community settings
  • Single-handed, autonomous assessment, diagnosis, and development of care and treatment plans for low and high-risk patients in primary and community care settings
  • Involvement in research and local clinical audit to measure and monitor intervention evaluation

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • BSc (Hons) Podiatry or equivalent
  • HCPC registration
  • LA Certificate
  • Evidence of current relevant CPD
  • Desirable criteria: Supplementary or Independent Prescriber, Post-Grad Qualifications, Registered on Masters programme

Experience

The successful candidate will have:

  • Post-Grad employment as B5 or B6 Podiatrist
  • Desirable criteria: Supervision of junior staff, Delivering training

Abilities

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Literacy skills
  • Desirable criteria: Welsh Speaker

Other

The successful candidate will be able to travel to undertake the role and possess the ability to work in a bilingual environment.
