About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to join our team in Halton. As a key member of our supportive team, you will work closely with children, young people, their families, and the multi-agency team to provide specialist level services in mainstream and special schools and clinics.

This is an exciting opportunity for an SLT who is passionate about delivering effective communication solutions and making a positive impact on the lives of children and families.

As a Senior Speech and Language Therapist, you will work independently, managing your caseload and taking responsibility for a defined area of the service. You will also contribute to the planning, development, and delivery of an effective and efficient service, working collaboratively with the multi-agency team.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide speech and language therapy services to children and young people, directly and through support to their families and the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Conduct assessments for children and young people, in consultation with their families and the multi-agency team.
  • Hold responsibility for own caseload and manage a defined area of the service, working without direct supervision.
  • Contribute to the induction, supervision, and support of other SLTs, SLTAs, and volunteers.
  • Access clinical supervision within the team, via regular meetings, group, and individual supervision, mentoring, and appraisals.
Person Specification
  • Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) Degree or Masters.
  • Relevant training, such as the Derbyshire Language Scheme or Elklan.
  • At least 2 years of experience working as an SLT with children, young people, their families, and the multi-agency team.
  • Experience working with children and young people with a range of Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN).
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office 365 applications, such as Word, Excel, and Teams.
