Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Officer to join our team at East Ayrshire Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking statutory Mental Health Officer duties, working within the context of relevant legislation and the reserved functions of the Mental Health Officer.
Key Responsibilities
- To assist with the promotion, delivery, and integration of key objectives in relation to those identified within the Health & Social Care Partnership Plan and the Community Plan.
- To undertake regulated work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act.
- To become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member in respect of regulated work with either or both of these groups, or to be subject to a PVG Scheme Record Update.
- To provide details of a minimum of two appropriate and relevant references, one of which should be from your current or most recent employer.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the relevant legislation and the reserved functions of the Mental Health Officer. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Working Arrangements
The post is based within Mental Health & LD, and the successful candidate will work a flexible schedule, with 50% - 79% of their time spent in an office location or multiple work locations. They will work at their administrative base or another agreed office location between 2.5 to 4 days per week and only occasionally from home.
Annual Salary
The annual salary for this post is £41, - £44, plus an additional 5% Market Forces Payment + a MHO payment.
