NHS Scotland is seeking to appoint an experienced Mental Health Specialist Practitioner to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, utilizing your specialist clinical knowledge to inform decision making and clinical judgment from initial assessment through to discharge.
Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist advice to the multidisciplinary team in relation to the management of patient conditions through the assessment, treatment, and review planning process in partnership with the patient/carer. This will involve providing specialist advice to healthcare professionals, other agencies, carers, clients, and relatives, while supporting the development of the service to improve practice and work collaboratively across healthcare boundaries.
Responsibilities
- Undertake the role of the Community Mental Health Nurse, utilizing specialist clinical knowledge to inform decision making and clinical judgment from initial assessment through to discharge.
- Provide specialist advice to the multidisciplinary team in relation to the management of patient conditions through the assessment, treatment, and review planning process in partnership with the patient/carer.
- Provide specialist advice to healthcare professionals, other agencies, carers, clients, and relatives.
- Support the development of the service to improve practice and work collaboratively across healthcare boundaries, implementing and evaluating evidence-based standards, guidelines, and policies.
- Provide teaching and supervision to junior staff and students.
Requirements
We are looking for an experienced Mental Health Specialist Practitioner who can demonstrate a strong understanding of mental health conditions and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will have a PVG Scheme membership/record and be able to provide specialist advice to healthcare professionals, other agencies, carers, clients, and relatives.

NHS Scotland offers a competitive salary package, including a salary of approximately £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
