Product Line Engineering Manager

Pico Technology is embarking on an exciting journey, with 32 years of continuous growth and success under our belt. We are seeking a seasoned Product Line Engineering Manager who thrives on growing a team and skillsets, as well as being hands-on. In this role, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of a new and exciting range of products.

You will have a dedicated team of mixed disciplines across hardware and software who will report into you, and who you will line and project manage to drive new product development from concept to production. This role suits someone with a proven track record of Project Management working with multi-disciplined teams, along with being a seasoned line manager capable of growing and motivating a talent pool of engineers.

Your Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for effective project planning to determine the most efficient route to deliver the best outcome, motivate your team, and drive them to success, including monitoring and controlling the project on:

  1. Scheduling
  2. Costs
  3. Risk and opportunities

In addition to this, you will be communicating and reporting across all stakeholders, as well as performance management and personal development reviews. We need you to reinforce the process and contribute to continual process improvements, adhering to ISO9001 and ISO14001.

This role is a full-time position, 40 hours a week based in our St Neots office. We do offer hybrid working (2-3 days a week in the office), but this is based on a compromise considering business need and your personal circumstances. We understand the importance of a work-life balance, and it is essential that we support our employees to get it right. Therefore, we have core office hours of 10am-3pm, meaning you can manage your 40 hours flexibly throughout the week.

What We're Looking For

Someone with line management and project management experience. More specifically:

Line Management:
  1. A good appreciation and preferably experience incorporating:
    1. Management of a multidisciplined team
    2. Technical leadership in at least one area
    3. Mentoring of junior team members
    4. Performance management and personal development
    5. Reinforcing process and setting standards
Project Management:
  1. Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a similar subject.
  2. Several years of experience in the execution and successful delivery of product development projects.

  5. Thorough knowledge of the professional project management process areas, methodologies, and tools.
  6. Preferably trained in project management with accredited certification through APM, Prince 2, IPM or equivalent.
