Job Role: Assistant Shop Manager

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Shop Manager to join our team in Portsmouth. As a key member of our retail sales team, you will be responsible for assisting the Shop Manager in leading, training, and working alongside our team to deliver exceptional customer service and sales results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Shop Manager in managing the day-to-day operations of the shop, including supervising the team and controlling costs.
  • Develop and lead the shop team to achieve sales targets and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure high standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene are maintained at all times.
  • Provide excellent customer service and create a welcoming experience for customers.
  • Assist with the management of branch stock and produce, including receiving and checking daily deliveries.
  • Maintain shop displays and ensure they are visually appealing and well-stocked.
  • Have excellent knowledge and understanding of our products and be able to communicate this to customers.
  • Prepare food in line with our specifications and maintain high standards of food quality and safety.
  • Cash handling, till operation, and banking.
  • Opening or closing the shop when required and running shifts at various times during the week.

Requirements:
  • Experience with team leading or supervising within food service or a retail setting.
  • A good communicator with a track record of success in previous roles.
  • Able to take responsibility within a fast-paced environment and provide high levels of customer service.
