Assistant Shop Manager Job Description

Wenzel's the Bakers is seeking an experienced Assistant Shop Manager to join our team. As an Assistant Shop Manager, you will be responsible for assisting the Shop Manager in leading, training, and working alongside our team to deliver exceptional customer service and high-quality food products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Shop Manager in the day-to-day running of the store, supervising the team, and ensuring the growth of the business through increasing sales, controlling costs, and delivering profit.
  • Develop and lead the shop team to build a loyal customer base.
  • Run the shop while the manager is on annual leave for up to two weeks.
  • Ensure store schedules and objectives are met by employees.
  • Manage and control all aspects of the shop, including branch stock and produce.
  • Maintain shop displays and prepare food in line with the specification.
  • Conduct food and produce quality control and maintain the highest level of hygiene and food safety standards.
  • Open or close the shop when required and run shifts at various times during the week.
  • Drive sales and minimize wastage.
Requirements:
  • Experience with team leading or supervising within food service or a retail setting.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
