The Managing Consultant is responsible for commercial growth, service area development, and ensuring quality delivery against clients' needs. They lead the development of IP and approaches within their service area, using this for sales and team training. They lead or review key proposals, deliver high-quality projects for clients, and coach senior and junior team members to improve performance.
About Avalere Health ConsultingAvalere Health Consulting leads strategic engagements with clients, comprised of three main areas: Advisory, Expert Partnerships, and Training. The Advisory team focuses on corporate strategy, portfolio planning, business development, commercial diligence, new product planning, and launch strategy.
Key Responsibilities- Develop strategy and resources to create competitive differentiation.
- Lead and manage project teams, enhancing strategic thinking across team members.
- Understand client KPIs and objectives, building great client relationships.
- Ensure work exceeds client expectations.
- Navigate difficult conversations with clients, giving challenging but constructive feedback.
- Communicate complex ideas clearly, securing alignment across audiences.
- Act as an ambassador for the business's vision, values, and strategy.
- Effectively lead a team, building morale even under difficult circumstances.
- Maintain excellent quality and timeliness of work.
- Organize tasks to create high-performing teams, demonstrating excellent delegation and team management.
- Provide regular and consistent feedback to get the best out of the team.
- Accountable for a significant revenue target.
- Identify new opportunities to extend Avalere Health's capabilities.
- Negotiate strategic and professional agreements with a major positive impact on the business.
- Proactively identify and implement approaches to improve margin and profitability.
- At least 7 years of experience within life science/healthcare consulting.
- Experience working with pharmaceutical and biotech organizations to deliver commercial strategy across therapeutic areas.
- Demonstrate deep understanding of our operating environment, industry, and market factors.
- Experience in building go-to-market models for clients, analyzing resources and organizational structure.
- Proven track record in business development with a strong network.
- Able to pick up and develop client relationships and opportunities.
