Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to join our team at King's College London. This is a full-time, fixed-term position until 31 December 2029. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing prediction models of exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) using machine learning techniques and clinical data integration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement advanced machine learning algorithms to forecast events related to COPD exacerbations
  • Collaborate with our team of researchers to integrate different datasets for data manipulation and analysis
  • Work closely with external collaborators to develop AI models of lung health and contribute to the development of new research projects
  • Support the principal investigator and collaborators to conduct research as set out by the objectives of the award
Requirements
  1. PhD awarded in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Biomedical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related subject area*
  2. First or Second-Class Honors in mathematics, physics, biomedical engineering or a related subject
  3. Advanced programming skills in Python/Matlab/C++
  4. Excellent communication and team working skills, both written and verbal
  5. Solid research background in a relevant field, supported by published peer-reviewed work
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  7. Ability to contribute ideas for new research projects and research income generation
Benefits

Salary

£65,000 - £75,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
