The East GMSA is seeking a highly skilled Research Coordinator to join our team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our core management team, you will play a vital role in the effective management of our genomic research program.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement research and innovation activities within the East GMSA, working closely with our Clinical Director, Strategy Director, and Innovation Director.
- Manage complex relationships with NHS providers, academic and industry partners, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of our research program.
- Develop a good understanding of the genomic research/trials landscape within the region and identify translational pathways to monitor progress against objectives/milestones.
- Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external audiences, and signpost researchers to available resources.
- Act as the first point of contact for the GMSA research agenda and provide a key link between the GMSA and NHSE with regards to key performance indicators and assurance evidence.
- Master's level education or equivalent level experience of working at a senior level in a specialist area.
- Evidence of ongoing continuing professional development.
- Project or operational management experience working within an academic or NHS environment, working with researchers, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals at all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge and experience of handling complex relationships.
- An understanding of the clinical trial process in the UK, including how individuals can participate in clinical research programs.
- An understanding and experience of the UK research funding landscape, including experience of working with partners such as the National Institute of Healthcare Research (NIHR).
- Knowledge and experience of the NHS innovation landscape and partners such as the Academic Health Science Networks and what evidence is needed to influence adoption and spread of evidence across the NHS and particularly in the NHS Genomic Medicine Service.
- An understanding of issues surrounding research, including patient confidentiality, good clinical practice, and research governance.
- Experience of working with and influencing researchers, scientists, management, and clinicians/ or other professional staff.
- Experience of working with operational finance in a research/NHS setting.
