About the Role
The successful candidate will provide support to students with Autism and other associated difficulties on courses designed for those with Autism and associated difficulties or supporting students to access their course. These courses range from Foundation Level 1 to Level 3, with an expectation to support in all areas.
You will be responsible for facilitating individual learning programmes, providing support to learners in small groups and one-to-one activities at the ASC Centres. You will work collaboratively with ASC Coordinators to develop creative and purposeful lesson plans that meet the needs of our learners. Additionally, you may be required to support learners accessing learning on their course within the mainstream learning environment and off-site activities.
Personal care may form part of the duties included in this role, with training provided.
This full-time position offers 35 hours per week, maternity cover until October 2024, term-time only. The salary for this role is approximately £27,000 - £31,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus 6 weeks' holiday and flexible working opportunities where appropriate.
What You'll Need to Succeed
This challenging role requires resilience, motivation, initiative, and patience. You will need to provide support to students with Autism and associated difficulties, possess excellent communication skills to work with tutors, and be part of a coordination team.
A qualification in Autism or other associated difficulties is not essential but a willingness to learn about Autism and the other difficulties young people may experience is crucial.
