Clinical Therapist for Children and Young People

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Therapist to join our Children and Young People's Mental Health Service at NELFT NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for undertaking CAMHS assessments of children and young people up to age 18 to inform formulation, diagnosis, and recommendations for treatment within a spectrum of mental health presentations.
Main Duties
As a Clinical Therapist, you will have a caseload, offering evidence-based interventions to children and adolescents with complex mental health needs and their families. You will have the ability to deliver a range of evidence-based clinical interventions for children and young people and will be supported to train in other treatment modalities. Develop and maintain close working relationships with members of the team and partnership agencies, including Social Services, Education, and others, is essential.
Requirements
- Experience of working with difficult, disturbed, or challenging children/young people requiring skilled and complex interventions
- Experience of working with children and adolescents with comorbid difficulties and special needs, including organic and emotional deficits, such as autistic spectrum disorders and trauma
- Experience of working therapeutically with parents/carers/families of children and young people with complex mental health problems
