About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group. As a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical services to patients and clients, and contributing to the development of our speech and language therapy services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist speech and language therapy services to patients and clients, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, taking into account the patient's or client's needs, goals, and preferences.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and other therapists, to ensure comprehensive care and support.
- Contribute to the development of our speech and language therapy services, including the design and implementation of new programs and initiatives.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including the analysis of data and the development of new policies and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in speech and language therapy, and apply this knowledge to improve patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) or equivalent.
- Postgraduate qualification in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience in a specialist speech and language therapy role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, clients, and colleagues.
- Ability to analyze data and produce reports using Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience of using electronic patient record systems.
