About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Health and Therapy Support Coach to join our Student Inclusion and Support team at Bournemouth and Poole College. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality support interventions to students with diverse needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Student Health Practitioner and external professionals to develop and implement support plans for students with complex needs.
  • Conduct initial assessments and gather information to inform support plans, working closely with students, staff, and external agencies.
  • Deliver support interventions, including speech, language, communication, sensory, mobility, and medical support, to students with diverse needs.
  • Work closely with the wider inclusion team and teaching staff to ensure that support is delivered as part of a holistic program and is accessible for students.
  • Support teaching staff and colleagues to implement strategies and advice from professionals, promoting a collaborative approach to student support.
  • Be prepared to deliver first aid to students who become unwell while waiting for the designated first aider.
Requirements
  • Level 2 (or equivalent) English and Maths
  • Relevant and recent experience working with people who have additional support needs
  • Experience in working effectively with colleagues and external agencies
  • Knowledge of post-16 education and SEND services
  • Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal
