About the Role:

This role involves coding inpatient and day-case episodes across various specialties, working closely with clinicians and mentoring novice coders. As an Accredited Clinical Coder, you will play a vital role in ensuring that data is accurate and compliant with national standards.

We are looking for someone who has a strong background in coding across a wide range of specialties within an acute NHS Trust setting. You will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build strong relationships with colleagues and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Coding: Accurately assign codes to patient records, ensuring compliance with national standards.
  2. Mentoring: Support novice coders in developing their skills and knowledge.
  3. Communication: Work effectively with clinicians and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience as an Accredited Senior Clinical Coder, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality coding services.
  • Qualifications: Hold the relevant qualifications in Clinical Coding, such as ACC or equivalent.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in using clinical coding software and systems, including [insert specific software/hardware].
