Key Responsibilities:
  • To educate and work in partnership with relevant organisations to enhance the safety and well-being of the public
  • Work collaboratively and carry out work schedules to service standards to achieve high standards and customer satisfaction
  • Use IT systems and specialist software relevant to the appropriate disciplines, including recording of all work to allow performance management analysis
  • Be responsible for technical and other equipment required for the efficient performance of duties, including operating expertise and interpretation of results
  • Provide professional, expert and up to date technical advice to residents, businesses, Members and key stakeholders
  • To issue letters, notices, legal documents, formal cautions, warnings, and other documents as required by legislation, guidance and policies
  • Keep abreast of legislative, technical and professional developments in relation to anti-social behaviour legislation and policy
  • In line with authorisation, carry out investigations, instigate and prepare prosecutions, attend court proceedings and deliver evidence in the event of statutory action taken for breaches
  • To ensure full compliance with established legal procedures and legislation relevant to the preservation of evidence and court procedures, including PACE, CPIA, RIPA and similar
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, find innovative solutions to problems and influencing stakeholders to adopt best practice approaches to meet Council and Statutory outcomes
  • To advise councillors, managers and senior officers on legislation relevant to the role of the team
  • To exercise professional judgement in contentious or legal cases so as to protect the environment, residents and businesses, and the interests of the wider community
  • Participate in and lead on publicity campaigns, customer service improvement plans and joint initiatives across Council services and with other agencies as directed
  • Investigate service requests and complaints emanating from domestic and commercial premises, taking appropriate enforcement or prevention actions as appropriate
  • Recognise and ascertain risks and impacts on individuals and/or the community, making clear decisions and take relevant mitigating actions
  • Contribute to the development of strategies, policies and statutory plans in relation to anti-social behaviour and associated services
  • Work as required to deliver objectives set out in operational plans and service plans to achieve high standards of service delivery
  • Contact management as a matter of priority in respect of any item which is, or appears to be, of a serious nature and could impact service delivery

Pay rate: £24.13 umbrella an hour
