Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Stoke-on-Trent City Council. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal development of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with special educational needs, ensuring they have access to the curriculum and resources.
  • Assist teachers in the classroom, helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support students with behavioral and emotional challenges.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and teachers to ensure a smooth and supportive learning experience.

Requirements:

  • GCSE English and Maths at C or above.
  • NVQ2 or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience working with children in a primary school setting.
  • Ability to work independently and flexibly.
  • High level of general education and a passion for supporting students with special educational needs.
