About the Role



We are seeking a compassionate and caring Maternity Support Worker to join our Antenatal and Newborn Screening Team at Northampton General Hospital. The successful candidate will provide support with Fetal Medicine Clinics, BCG vaccine clinics, and Preterm Birth Clinics.

The primary role of the Maternity Support Worker is to assist, support, and work in collaboration with the midwife and the wider multidisciplinary team to provide a safe and holistic approach to women-centered care. The post holder will be expected to undertake a set of defined competencies and will be provided with appropriate training for the clinical setting.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working as a Maternity Support Worker in a clinical setting, possess excellent communication skills, and be able to work without direct supervision. A commitment to continuing professional development and a passion for delivering high-quality care are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

* Demonstrate understanding of the importance of working in partnership with women and their families
* Develop and maintain positive relationships, support informed decision-makers, and respect the woman's and her family's wishes
* Understand the MSW's scope of practice and the importance of the role within national framework
* Provide administrative support to the maternity team
* Participate in tracking, obtaining, and filing clinical records
