About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced nurse to join our maternity immunisation team as a Maternity Immunisation Nurse Specialist. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in promoting the health and wellbeing of pregnant women and their babies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver the maternity immunisation programmes, including influenza, pertussis, BCG and RSV vaccinations, to pregnant women and their babies.
  • Work closely with the antenatal and newborn screening team to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to provide high-quality care and improve maternity experience.
  • Develop and maintain databases to track vaccination uptake and monitor programme effectiveness.
  • Manage resources and coordinate the booking process for immunisation programmes.
  • Provide education and support to midwives and other healthcare professionals on immunisation public health agenda.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Education, Training & Qualifications
    • Registered Nurse
    • Relevant Degree or evidence of further study and experience to the equivalent
  • Knowledge & Experience
    • Awareness of local and national agendas
    • Awareness of the public health agenda around immunisations in pregnancy and the BCG programme
    • Minimum of 1 year's post-qualification experience
