TeacherActive is seeking experienced teaching assistants to support students with challenging behaviors in SEMH/SEND schools based in Birmingham.

We estimate the salary for this role to be between $25-$35 per hour, depending on experience.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background working with SEMH students, excellent communication skills, and the ability to think creatively to manage challenging behaviors.

  1. Support pupils out of the classroom with pastoral and personal development, ensuring they receive the care and guidance they need.
  2. Manage the behavior of pupils sent out of class, freeing up other teaching assistants to focus on lesson delivery.
  3. Patrol the school, working with pupils not in class for any reason, and provide additional support as needed.
  4. Team player attitude with a positive and flexible approach to work, allowing you to work effectively with colleagues and management.
  5. Experience within an SEMH school or setting, providing you with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities that come with this role.
