Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Composite Process Development Engineer to join our team at Dowty, a GE Aerospace company. As a key member of our Integrated Project Team, you will support the development of composite process technology for a novel composite rotor structure.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and deliver composite rotor hardware for test, with a focus on hands-on process development and definition.
  2. Support the design and development of new composite processes, including low maturity composite material and process technologies.
  3. Collaborate with the Design and Manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration of composite processes into production.
  4. Characterize composite parts using various techniques, including metrology, composite testing, and NDT, to ensure process capability and design intent.
Requirements
  1. Relevant Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  2. Experience in composite process development and manufacturing, particularly with RTM and dry fibre preforming.
  3. Demonstrated experience in process improvement and material development.
  4. Knowledge of Aerospace quality systems and experience with rotatives (engines, rotors).
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to work as part of a team.

Security Clearance

Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required for this role.
