Job Title: Composites Development Engineer

Join GE Aviation as a Composites Development Engineer and contribute to the development of innovative composite materials and processes for our next-generation aircraft.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Composites Development Engineer to support the development of composite materials and processes for our NTI programme. As a key member of our Integrated Project Team, you will work closely with our engineering and manufacturing teams to design, develop, and deliver composite rotor structures for test and production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development of new composite materials and processes for our NTI programme
  • Design and develop composite rotor structures for test and production
  • Collaborate with our engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration of composite materials and processes
  • Contribute to the development of process specifications and documentation, equipment procurement and commissioning, and tooling system design
  • Support the low-rate production of test hardware, including hands-on support on the line and characterization of parts produced by various techniques
Requirements
  • Relevant engineering degree (Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent)
  • Experience in composite process development and manufacturing, particularly with RTM and dry fibre preforming
  • Demonstrated experience of process improvement and material development
  • Knowledge of aerospace quality systems and experience with rotatives (engines, rotors)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and analytical and problem-solving skills
