Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Composites Development Engineer to join our team at Dowty, a GE Aerospace company. As a key member of our Integrated Project Team, you will play a crucial role in supporting composite process development for a novel composite rotor structure project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and delivery of composite rotor hardware for test, with a focus on hands-on process development and definition.
  • Contribute to process specifications and documentation, equipment procurement and commissioning, and tooling system design.
  • Support the low-rate production of test hardware, including hands-on support on the line and characterization of parts produced by various techniques.

Requirements

  • Relevant Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience in composite process development and manufacturing, particularly with RTM and dry fibre preforming.
  • Demonstrated experience of process improvement and material development.
  • Low TRL/MRL technology development experience and experience with Aerospace quality systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
