Job Description

Dowty, a GE Aviation company, is a world-leading supplier of propeller systems to the global turboprop aircraft market. We are seeking a skilled Composites Development Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of innovative composite rotor structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and delivery of composite rotor hardware for test, with a focus on hands-on process development and definition.
  • Contribute to the design and development of new composite processes, including the setup of production lines and the production of test articles.
  • Characterize composite parts using various techniques, including metrology, composite testing, and NDT, to ensure process capability and design intent.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvements and optimize composite part performance.
Requirements
  • Relevant engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Experience in composite process development and manufacturing, particularly with RTM and dry fibre preforming.
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement and material development.
  • Knowledge of aerospace quality systems and experience with low TRL/MRL technology development.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
