Job Title: Payroll System Specialist

We're seeking a skilled Payroll System Specialist to support our current payroll functionality and enhance our ways of working. As a key member of our team, you'll work closely with System Managers and Implementation subject matter experts to ensure accuracy, resilience, and process optimisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing the existing payment process/systems to accommodate ongoing changes/new customer requirements.
  • Facilitating the specification of business change requirements to payroll systems, liaising with the appropriate change agents.
  • Undertaking appropriate user testing and validating changes to payroll systems, supporting the implementation of changes, including communicating with the operational team and hyper-caring impacted processes.
  • Providing technical support to internal customers, recommending solutions to complex payment problems.
  • Project Support - (system, process, regulatory) Support the creation and embedding of business testing, ensuring operational support validating accuracy of changes and safeguarding operational processes.
  • Monitoring and managing all payroll non-production environments to conduct regular reviews of data and functionality (Preprod, Test/Development).
  • Undertaking appropriate system reviews as required. Conducting disaster recovery testing, contingency reviews to ensure business resilience and infrastructure monitoring.
  • Consumer Duty- Ensuring that the principles of Conduct Risk are embedded into your day-to-day operations to deliver good customer outcomes at all times. Ensuring that all business processes and internal controls within your role are designed and performed in a way that delivers good customer outcomes and demonstrates effective management of Conduct Risk

Requirements:

  • Basics of processing payroll and reconciliations.
  • Strong testing & project delivery.
  • Analytical mindset across system functionality and defects management.
  • Awareness of Payroll regulatory/risk.
  • Experience in a similar environment working on multiple projects and all levels of testing for example - SIT, BAT, PA.
  • Initiative – Trouble shooting and issue resolution.
  • Prioritisation (MoSCoW).
  • Planning/Organisation of testing.
  • Excel.
