Job Title: Respiratory Medicine Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Medicine Consultant to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. As a Respiratory Medicine Consultant, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and leading the sleep service for the Health board.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a forward-thinking organization that values innovation and excellence. As a Respiratory Medicine Consultant, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes Respiratory Nurse Specialists, Respiratory Physiotherapists, and Pulmonary Physiologists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the sleep service for the Health board
  • Provide high-quality patient care and management of respiratory conditions
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective care plans
  • Contribute to the care of inpatients on the Respiratory ward and the respiratory retrieval rota in Morriston Hospital
  • Participate in clinical audit and research projects to improve medical practice
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Registration with the GMC and a license to practice
  • On Specialist Register with GMC as a specialist in Respiratory Medicine or eligible for CCT/CESR/CP within 6 months of date of interview
  • Valid Certified Basic Life Support Skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and staff
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to competing demands
