About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Caretaker to join our team at Salvation Army Homes. As a Caretaker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of our properties, providing a safe and comfortable living environment for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake a wide range of duties and responsibilities connected with the fabric and grounds of the scheme, including low-level maintenance, decorating, repairs, gardening, and cleaning.
  • Ensure the internal cleanliness of all communal areas and office facilities are kept to the required specification.
  • Maintain the property to a high standard, making sure it is kept in good repair, and undertake low-level maintenance duties as set out in the caretaker/handy person's task sheet.
  • Respond promptly to all repair requests and actively seek out works required in and around the building.
  • Be responsible for the collection and delivery of items to and from the scheme as required.
  • Ensure the exterior area of the building is maintained to the required specification.
Requirements
  • Experience of undertaking cleaning and gardening duties.
  • Experience of carrying out low-level maintenance duties to a high standard.
  • Proactive approach to assessing maintenance needs.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety issues as they relate to Buildings and maintenance.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a can-do, professional attitude and the drive to make a real difference.
  • Great verbal, written, and influencing skills with high attention to detail.
