Job Description

As a Healthcare Assistant on the Stroke Unit, you will work as part of a busy multi-disciplinary team providing individualised, evidence-based stroke care. Your duties will include greeting patients, taking bloods, performing ECGs, recording observations, and communicating with patients and healthcare professionals.

You should be proficient in phlebotomy and obtaining ECGs, have excellent communication skills, and experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Able to communicate in English clearly and concisely with patients, carers, and the multidisciplinary team
  • Courteous with patients and others, both internal and external
  • Ability to write clearly and legibly in English
  • Understands concept of confidentiality and standards of conduct and care
  • Ability to use a computer, with knowledge of basic Excel
  • GCSE A to G or Functional Skills in English and Maths (Level 1 or equivalent)
