Job Title: Advanced Specialist Mental Health Pharmacist

Job Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated pharmacist with experience in mental health to further develop their skills and knowledge in the specialist area. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality clinical pharmaceutical care and support the medicines optimisation agenda within your area of specialty.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality, specialist clinical pharmacy service to the Community Rehabilitation Enhanced Support Team (CREST) ensuring safe, clinically effective, and cost-efficient use of drugs.
  • Work as part of the multidisciplinary team to develop understanding of the needs of patients with complex psychosis in the CREST service.
  • Ensure best practice in medicines optimisation.
  • Deliver on clinical advice and audit.
  • Provide clinical pharmacy advice on the management of patients with mental illness to maximise benefit and minimise risk in relation to medicines.
  • Deliver education and training on mental health pharmaceutical issues to various health and social care professionals.

Requirements:
  • Good Pharmacy Honours degree (BPharm or MPharm).
  • Clinical or psychiatric postgraduate certificate.
  • Clinical or psychiatric postgraduate diploma (Psychiatric preferred).
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Experience in mental health hospital pharmacy or community mental health team/service.
  • Self-motivated, confident, and ability to navigate conflicting work priorities.
  • Flexible approach to work in order to meet the developing needs of the pharmacy service.
  • Ability to work autonomously providing patient-facing and non-patient-facing clinical advice.
