Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Outreach and Recruitment Specialist to join our UK Recruitment and Outreach team at the University of Reading. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting prospective students and applicants, with a particular focus on students from a widening participation background.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and deliver a strategic programme of outreach, recruitment, and conversion activity in the South West region, including project management of intensive widening participation projects.
  2. Build and maintain strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including colleagues, students, and external partners.
  3. Provide occasional cover in South Wales and support the delivery of outreach and recruitment activities across the UK.
  4. Lead on the project management of widening participation projects, working closely with Regional Officers and other team members.
  5. Contribute to the development of the University's outreach and recruitment strategy, ensuring alignment with the University's goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • A first degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Experience of working within a student recruitment, outreach, or similar role, with a strong understanding of the UK higher education sector.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to work independently and to objectives with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrable understanding and knowledge of UK secondary and tertiary education sectors.
