About the Company: Our client is a forward-thinking and innovative IT business, proud of their achievements and taking immense pride in their work. With a large employee base across the UK and Ireland, they are seeking a highly professional and engaging Head of Payroll to oversee the payroll team and function.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the Payroll Team: Lead one Payroll Team Leader and 7 payroll staff, ensuring the smooth operation of the payroll function.
- Payroll Function: Take direct responsibility for running the entire payroll function, including checking, amendments, and approvals for staff on the monthly payroll.
- Payroll Strategy: Develop and implement the long-term payroll strategy, assisting with the new payroll system implementation.
- Reporting and Compliance: Produce various post-payroll reports from the payroll system, working closely with the Shared Service Centre HR Manager, Recruitment Teams, Finance and non-Finance Managers, and Heads of Department.
- HMRC Compliance: Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations, including monthly and year-end returns.
- Audits and Recovery: Conduct regular audits of payroll processes, ensuring the recovery of over-payments, loans, and attachment of earnings.
- Benefits Renewals: Take responsibility for annual benefits renewals, sourcing and negotiating with benefits providers, and maintaining vendor relationships.
- Experience: Hands-on experience from a Shared Service Centre environment, managing multiple payrolls, and previous/recent man-management experience.
- Leadership: Ability to lead by example, with an exceptional track record of delivery.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Organisational Skills: Efficient and professional approach, with the ability to multi-task and strong organisational and time management skills.
- Team Player: Collaborative in style, actively seeking partnership with others to achieve shared results.
