Job Summary:
As a Senior Planning Specialist with the Black Sluice Internal Drainage Board, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with the Board's Byelaws. This involves investigating complaints of poor drainage and ensuring the proper operation of ordinary watercourses within the Board's District.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a strong understanding of planning and enforcement principles. Your duties will include:

  • Monitoring Weekly Planning lists for items requiring Board input and responses
  • Responding to planning consultations in the Board's area
  • Recording, tracking, and responding to enquiries from the general public and other Risk Management Authorities in relation to drainage or flooding issues


This is a challenging yet rewarding role that offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the community. We offer a competitive salary of £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as a contributory Lincolnshire Local Government Pension Scheme and flexible working arrangements.
