Role Overview
We are recruiting for a Social Worker to join our Safeguarding team, responsible for investigating safeguarding concerns and ensuring the timely resolution of enquiries. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with health professionals, private providers, and voluntary sector organizations to ensure seamless transitions for clients. Your expertise will be invaluable in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with Adult Social Care colleagues across the council.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate safeguarding concerns and ensure timely resolution of enquiries in line with agreed timescales and team performance frameworks.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with health professionals, private providers, and voluntary sector organizations to ensure smooth transitions for clients.
- Communicate effectively with adults at risk and their families/advocates on a range of issues, providing appropriate intervention and following Making Safeguarding Personal principles.
- Have a good understanding of enquiries and knowledge of the Care Act and North West Safeguarding policy.
Requirements
- CQSW/CSS/Diploma/Degree in Social Work or equivalent.
- Social Work England Registration.
- Enhanced DBS plus Children's and Adults Barred List.
- Statutory and policy base of Social Work.
- Appreciation of recent developments in service provision.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, carers, and families.
- Ability to cope positively with change and promote positive changes to make a difference.
- Awareness of importance of multi-disciplinary working and integrated approach.
- Ability to carry out safeguarding investigations in line with legislation.
