About the Role

This is a new and exciting opportunity to support individuals experiencing mental health crises or episodes of psychological/emotional distress.

As a Crisis Intervention Specialist, you will work closely with individuals in crisis, providing person-centred interventions to address and de-escalate immediate crisis experiences.

The role involves listening to individuals with empathy, genuineness, respect, acceptance, non-judgment, and sensitivity.

A key aspect of this position is supporting mental health and well-being through group activities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Providing crisis intervention services to individuals experiencing mental health crises.
  2. Working closely with individuals to understand their needs and develop personalized plans.
  3. Supporting individuals through person-centred interventions, focusing on addressing and de-escalating immediate crisis experiences.
  4. Participating in group activities to promote mental health and well-being.
Requirements

We are seeking a candidate with the following skills and experience:

  1. Previous experience working in the mental health field, supporting individuals to be in control of their lives.
  2. Knowledge of social determinants leading to poor mental health.
  3. A good working knowledge of safeguarding legislation.
  4. Extensive knowledge of the local community.
  5. Excellent communication and team working skills.
  6. Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  7. The ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings.
