About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team at Morson Talent. As a key member of our projects team, you will be responsible for delivering projects to time, cost, and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and assess all aspects of project delivery from order receipt to completion.
  • Facilitate collaboration between engineers, designers, and production teams to develop and produce projects.
  • Understand technical information and quality documentation in response to customer requirements.
  • Manage project phases and address concerns from stakeholders.
  • Manage and control budget costs to maintain profit margins.
  • Provide leadership and set the tone for project execution.
  • Provide transparency to clients throughout the project and implement EWNs and CEs where necessary.
  • Set up and manage daily calls with customers to maintain strong relationships.
  • Provide daily/weekly/monthly reporting summaries to stakeholders.
  • Support clients in navigating technical and commercial assurance requirements.
  • Visit sites to verify project progress and gather stakeholder/customer feedback.
  • Obtain documentation from customers and validate.
  • Work closely with production and quality departments to plan workload and achieve project schedules.
  • Collaborate with all departments to maintain strong client relationships.
  • Monitor labour utilisation and provide reports to support cost recovery for delays.
  • Lead by example on all matters related to HSE.
Scope
  • Participate in meetings and influence decisions where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain to maximise value opportunities.
  • Identify gaps in contract clauses related to project delivery and execution.
  • Motivate and lead team members to ensure they are SQEP and have relevant documentation.
  • Coordinate between departments to ensure right-first-time and on-time delivery of works.
  • Support colleagues and contribute to a team atmosphere to meet business objectives.
  • Ensure data security and confidentiality are maintained.

Essential Experience, Skills & Qualifications
  • Ability to apply logical, analytical, and innovative thinking on technical problems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Must be able to interpret mechanical drawings and work instructions.
  • Commercial awareness, including knowledge of NEC3 Engineering and Construction Contracts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel.
Desirable Experience, Skills & Qualifications
  • Degree-level qualification in Engineering or similar.
  • Project management qualifications such as Prince 2, APM, or PMI.
  • Formal engineering qualification minimum level HND/HNC.
  • Working experience in Industrial, Mechanical, Process Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Awareness of industry-specific regulations, codes, and standards.
