About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join Polaris Community as a Youth Support Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to young people aged 11-18 within our residential settings.

Your primary responsibility will be to create a safe and nurturing environment, promoting positive relationships and encouraging independence and self-development among our young people. You will also be responsible for assessing and responding to the individual needs of each young person, working closely with colleagues and managers to develop and implement personalized care plans.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification or commitment to undertake a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare.
  • Experience working in the care sector or residential care (desirable).
  • Ability to engage with young people positively and proactively.

Salary and Benefits:

  • A competitive salary: £28,959.84 per annum (Qualified Support Worker rate) based on completion of probation period.
  • Specific hours: 12-hour shifts (08:00am - 20:00pm), with opportunities for Bank Holidays and sleep-in allowances.
  • A minimum average of 168 hours per calendar month and annual leave entitlement (including Bank Holidays).
  • Pension scheme and enrolment to required qualification after a qualifying period.
