About the Role


At SuperCare Residential, we're seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for vulnerable children and young people.



Responsibilities


  • Direct work with young people, key working, and providing day-to-day care and support on a shift work basis.
  • Collaborate with young people, their families, social workers, and other organizations to ensure everyone's needs are addressed.
  • Coordinate, monitor, and review Care Plans for allocated young people to help them transition to adulthood and greater independence.
  • Take responsibility for the upkeep of the establishment, ensuring health and safety standards are met, and making autonomous decisions about individual young people's requests and behavior.
  • Empower young people to take control of their lives, informing them of their circumstances and rights, and supporting them in planning their lives.
  • Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns and report them effectively.
  • Maintain a safe and comfortable environment, attending to the day-to-day needs of the young people, including bathing, feeding, and cooking.
  • Care for the fabric, equipment, and overall environment of the establishment.


Requirements


  • Act as a role model and guide for young people, setting principles and examples.
  • Maintain regular professional supervision.
  • Work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays, on a rota basis as required.
  • Experience working with children/young people in an Ofsted environment.
  • Hold a Level 3 Diploma or above (or be working towards a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care).
  • Enhanced DBS Check and update service.
  • Be smart and agile, able to handle the daily needs and activities of the young people.
