Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Neuroscience Research Fellow to join our team at the University of Birmingham. The successful candidate will contribute to running of the RETINA-TBI study and collect, analyse and publish research data.

About the Role

The post-holder will work as part of the RETINA-TBI team based in the Department of Inflammation and Ageing at the University of Birmingham and the Department of Neurosurgery at University Hospitals Birmingham. The main responsibilities include coordinating recruitment of patients to RETINA-TBI, ensuring study procedures are conducted as per the protocol, and contributing to site file and data management.

Main Responsibilities

  • To coordinate recruitment of patients to RETINA-TBI, including patient identification, consent and performance of trial-related procedures where relevant.
  • To ensure study procedures are conducted as per the protocol, including insertion of invasive neuromonitoring and collection of perfusion data and fluid samples.
  • To contribute to site file and data management under guidance of the trials coordinators and lead investigators.

What You'll Need

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a medical degree, full General Medical Council Registration with a Licence to Practice, understanding and experience of research methods and processes, and demonstrable research experience.
