Job Overview:
The University of Birmingham is inviting applications for a Research Fellow position as part of the EPSRC project 'New Frontiers in Fine-Grained Approximation Algorithms'. The successful candidate will join a team of researchers working on cutting-edge projects in fine-grained approximation algorithms and contribute to advancing our understanding of this emerging field.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate within area of specialism and contribute to generating funding.
  • Supervise students on research-related work and provide guidance to PhD students where appropriate to the discipline.
  • Promote equality and value diversity acting as a role model and fostering an inclusive working culture.

Requirements:
  • First degree in area of specialism and normally a higher degree relevant to research area or equivalent qualifications/experience.
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly.
  • Understanding of and ability to contribute to broader management/administration processes.

Salary: £35,880 - £45,163 per annum with potential progression once in post to £47,874.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer science and research experience in fine-grained approximation algorithms. This is a full-time fixed-term contract up to March 2028.
