About the Role

At the University of Birmingham, we are seeking two Clinical Research Fellows to join our team as PhD students in paediatric oncology. As a Clinical Research Fellow, you will be part of an academic team working on established research programmes, undertaking project-specific research and training in this area.

About the Projects
  • Project 1: Uncovering Genetic Links in Paediatric Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. You will investigate how different GATA2 mutations found in paediatric AML affect blood stem cell function and predispose to the onset of leukaemia.
  • Project 2: Identifying Therapeutic Vulnerabilities in Paediatric AML. You will investigate how different KMT2A rearrangements found in paediatric patients affect treatment response.

Main duties include planning and developing research contributions, suggesting new research techniques, disseminating research findings, contributing to the production of research reports, and promoting equality and values diversity acting as a role model and fostering an inclusive working culture.
