About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Land Manager to join our SSE Renewables Onshore Origination, Land and Estates team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in the growth of our UK portfolios, primarily for Onshore Wind, Power to X, Battery Energy Storage, and Solar projects in Scotland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing a range of land services, including commercial and contract negotiations, dispute resolution, consultant management, acquisition, joint ventures, land management, and due diligence.
  • Developing and maintaining a strong network of contacts with landowners, land agents, solicitors, consultants, local authorities, consultees, industry bodies, and communities.
  • Managing the timely delivery of all land agreements and land rights required for projects throughout the development and construction process.
  • Ensuring the transparency of deliverables and risks with internal stakeholders.
  • Providing advice across multiple business areas on organic growth, repowering, life extension, hybridization, and co-location.
Requirements
  • Prior experience of land management across both rural and commercial sectors.
  • Good working knowledge of relevant Landlord and Tenant legislation.
  • Experience in the negotiation of leases, options, land acquisition, and wayleaves.
  • Previous planning and development experience of projects involving multiple land ownerships, with the ability to identify land and planning-related risks and develop proposals to mitigate them to secure deliverable projects.
  • Passion and drive to work on your own initiative and deliver within a team environment.
