Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Land Manager to join our team at SSE Enterprise. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for securing, maintaining, and managing robust land and property rights for projects across our network area.

Your primary focus will be on successfully applying and implementing our Land Assembly Strategy to deliver project programs for Large Capital Projects. You will also be responsible for managing risk to future Network security and developing and maintaining positive working relationships with stakeholders, including landowners, tenants, and relevant bodies.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a good understanding of landownership systems in Scotland and practical knowledge of relevant land management matters. You should also have good knowledge of land and property rights, including wayleaves, servitudes, and land acquisition.

In addition, you will need to have a good understanding of the relevant sections of the Electricity Act 1989, the Land Compensation Act 1973, and the Compulsory Purchase Act 1965. Membership of the Rural Professional Group of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers is desirable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Secure, maintain, and manage robust land and property rights for projects across our network area.
  • Successfully apply and implement our Land Assembly Strategy to deliver project programs for Large Capital Projects.

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders, including landowners, tenants, and relevant bodies.
Requirements
  • Good understanding of landownership systems in Scotland.
