We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Older Adults team at St Mary's Hospital, Kettering. As a Clinical Lead, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of older adults with mental health conditions.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of clinical excellence, leadership, and collaboration. You will be expected to work closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement innovative services that meet the needs of our patients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of older adults with mental health conditions
  • Developing and implementing innovative services that meet the needs of our patients
  • Working closely with our multidisciplinary team to achieve excellent patient outcomes
  • Contributing to the development of our research and innovation strategy

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • MRCPsych or equivalent, be included on the GMC's Specialist Register or Specialist Registrars within six months of completing CCST
  • Full GMC Registration
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to use email and the internet
  • Publications in the field of psychiatry
  • Management training
  • Experience of training Senior House Officers and multi-disciplinary staff
  • Evidence of first-hand experience of developing services in a constantly changing environment and to tight budgetary restraints
  • Experience of setting up induction and training packages for Junior Doctors
  • Experience of training Specialist Registrars
  • Understanding of contracting, finance, and activity monitoring
