Consultant Psychiatrist in Older Adults

Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our exceptional Older Adults team at St Mary's Hospital, Kettering.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to clinical research and development, with access to the Trust's research fellows and a portfolio of studies in Old Age Dementia and Physical Health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of clinicians in providing high-quality care to older adults with mental health needs
  • Develop and implement innovative treatment approaches, including physical treatments in mental health
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to deliver excellent patient care and outcomes
  • Contribute to the development of research studies and projects in Old Age Psychiatry
Person Specification
  • MRCPsych or equivalent qualification
  • Full GMC Registration
  • Basic computer skills, including email and internet usage
  • Publications in the field of psychiatry
  • Management training and experience
  • Experience of training Senior House Officers and multidisciplinary staff
  • Understanding of contracting, finance, and activity monitoring

  • Full and valid driving licence and car
