Opportunity Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Scientist 1 to join our Molecular Biology team on a 12-month secondment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the performance of GMP studies, providing scientific support to internal and external clients, and maintaining study records to meet regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct GMP studies and provide scientific support to internal and external clients
  • Maintain study records, including deviation records, to meet regulatory standards
  • Respond to audit observations through BRIQS and implement improvements to make efficiencies and reduce waste
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure projects are executed satisfactorily
  • Take personal responsibility to deliver client service to a consistently high standard

Requirements
  • BSc or higher degree in Biological Science with competent, relevant work experience
  • Prior experience in Molecular Biology techniques, including DNA/RNA extractions, qPCR, endpoint PCR, Sanger sequencing, droplet PCR, Northern/Southern blotting, and molecular microbiology
  • Previous experience of working within quality-driven systems (GxP) is preferred
  • Excellent written communication skills with an attention to detail and record-keeping
  • Ability to collaborate, communicate effectively, and possess proven interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational skills, including the ability to plan and organise own workload to ensure all deadlines are met or exceeded
