Job Overview

Austin Fraser is seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join their data and analytics function. This exciting role involves maintaining databases, ensuring data security, and working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain databases and utilize ETL tools to pipeline data into the data warehouse while ensuring data security and cleanliness.
  • Troubleshoot issues between systems to understand and solve data discrepancies, enabling the wider team to produce accurate reporting.
  • Review current ETL and data warehouse setup and work with the wider data team to make improvements, ensuring best practices are implemented.
  • Develop and maintain database documentation, including data standards, procedures, and definitions for data sources and tables across the company.
  • Protect data by developing data security and restoration controls.
  • Identify and implement database requirements for new or existing applications and partners by working collaboratively with other teams.
  • Support users and developers by resolving data-related technical issues and troubleshooting queries by guiding them with best practices.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree or relevant qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  2. 3+ years of experience in database administration or in a similar role.
  3. Familiarity with SQL database querying and relational data models.
  4. Experience in database backup, disaster recovery planning, performance optimization, and data security.
  5. Understanding of cloud-based data warehouse tool Snowflake and data pipeline tool Rivery.
